Health Services Department Alternate
Wanda Session is Assistant to the Health Services Director for Contra Costa Health Services in Martinez. Ms. Session has worked for the integrated public health system in Contra Costa County for more than 25 years, including a decade as the program manager for the County’s medically indigent program. She helped develop and implement the Health Care Coverage Initiative (HCCI) program in Contra Costa and managed the program until her recent promotion in December.
Ms. Session, who has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, has many years of experience working collaboratively with community partners to expand health coverage, outreach and enrollment, and to build partnerships with other agencies and organizations. She currently serves as Alternate Commissioner to First Five Contra Costa Children and Families Commission, and Board of Trustee to RYSE Youth Center in Richmond. Passionate about her work, Ms. Session is committed to excellence in service, and believes that all people should have access to high quality health care.
When not at work, Ms. Session enjoys spending time with her husband, Clarence, five adult children and nine grandchildren. Her favorite place to vacation is in the Hawaiian Islands.
