Home Visiting Services

First 5 Contra Costa funds home visiting programs for expecting and new parents living in Antioch, Bay Point, Concord, Martinez, Pittsburg, Richmond or San Pablo.

Families receive one-on-support on topics such as child development, breastfeeding and nutrition, child safety, immunizations, health insurance, and referrals to needed services. In addition, home visitors provide postpartum screening for new mothers, developmental screening to ensure babies are meeting developmental milestones, and outreach to engage more fathers.

Last year, home visitors served 250 families. More than 3,750 visits were provided. 17% of women screened had signs of postpartum depression.
