Help Shape How $14M in One-Time County Funds Are Spent

The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is asking for input on how to spend approximately $14 million in one-time federal funds, and we want to make sure families like yours are part of the conversation. This is a key opportunity to let elected officials know what matters most to you and your community, especially when it comes to programs and services that support young children and families.

Two opportunities to make your voice heard

The Board of Supervisors is launching two separate processes to determine how the funds will be used:

  • Countywide Funding: Using the results of a community survey, approximately $9M will be decided on by the county with direction by the Board of Supervisors, and

  • District-Specific Funding: Each of the five Supervisors will decide how to allocate an additional $1 million in their own district through grants or community projects.

Both of these processes are shaped by community input, and your participation is essential.

Step 1: Complete (and share) the community survey

  • For Parents and Families: your voice is needed! The community survey (available in English and Spanish) asks about child care, housing, transportation, and other critical needs. It takes just 5 minutes and will directly inform how $9 million is spent countywide.
  • Providers and Early Childhood Champions: encourage your partners and the families you serve to complete the short online survey. The more voices we gather, the stronger our collective impact will be.
