These Community-Based Organizations are committed to supporting Black families with young children in East Contra Costa County. They are actively involved in our Ready Kids East County efforts, providing tools and services to help you navigate the early years of your child’s life.

California Abundant Birth Project

Focuses on addressing birth outcomes and supporting Black birthing people to ensure healthier pregnancies, reduce disparities in maternal health, and improve birth outcomes in the Black community.

First 5 Centers

Our First 5 Centers, located in Pittsburgh, Antioch, and Brentwood, are family resource centers for moms, dads, grandparents or other adult caregivers with children age 0-5.

Herstoryismine is a community dedicated to amplifying the voices of Black women and girls.

Parents of African American Children Advocacy and Community Team works to ensure that African American children have access to equitable educational opportunities, free from discrimination and bias.

Tandem, Partners in Early Learning

Through StoryCycles, families participate in a school-to-home book lending program that provides children with diverse books in order to create more opportunities for book-sharing experiences at school and at home.

Village Keepers

A holistic network of Black organizations, individuals and allies dedicated to ensuring the safety, health, education, economic and emotional stability of Black families.

In addition, we also partner with agencies and organizations that are playing a key role to create a lasting impact for Black families in East Contra Costa County.

Dedicated to providing high-quality education, support services, and resources to students and families.

John Muir Health
Providing quality healthcare services, specialized care, resources, and support to promote overall health and wellness.

NAMI Contra Costa
Providing outreach, education, support and advocacy to families and individuals in need of help dealing with mental illness.

Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice
Supports the County’s efforts to strengthen and expand equity, access and inclusion for all county residents and communities, especially those most impacted by racial and socioeconomic disparities.
