About:

Overview of Project:

Care Parent Network created opportunities for families raising young children with autism to connect, learn about advocacy, and share their experiences.

Accomplishments:

The project elevated the experiences of families raising young autistic children by creating opportunities for parents to connect, share their experiences, and identify common barriers, priorities, and recommendations.

  • Hosted 10 inclusive playdates that created opportunities for connection, community, and feedback
  • Held 3 parent advocacy workshops in English and Spanish
  • Reached 100 parents and gathered feedback from 25 families

These community insights were also captured in a Community Insights Report, bringing together family experiences and recommendations to help inform future planning and collaboration.

A child sits at a table, sorting colorful bear-shaped counters into matching bowls. The bears and bowls are arranged by color: blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and purple. The childs face is blurred for privacy. A child wearing a helmet stands with an orange bike next to an adult on a painted area, with people sitting on benches and children playing in the background.
