Our bilingual New Parent Kits (English/Spanish) are designed to support expectant families and those welcoming a new baby in Contra Costa County.
Each kit comes in a reusable canvas drawstring tote and is filled with helpful resources to support families during their baby’s first years. Inside, you’ll find information on early learning and development, breastfeeding support through Contra Costa’s Breastfeeding Warmline, and connections to our First 5 Centers as well as essential programs and services including Medical, CalFresh, WIC, and additional Contra Costa Health services. The kit also includes a developmental milestones calendar and a magnet with essential numbers to services to help families navigate the journey of parenthood.
To make the experience even more special, every kit also includes a board book to encourage early literacy and a baby rattle for a little one to enjoy—and it’s free!
