Roslyn Gentry

Alternate Commissioner representing Children and Family Services

Ms. Roslyn Gentry was born and raised in the local Bay Area of California.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University in Criminal Justice, Sociology; and received her Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Sacramento State University.  Ms. Gentry was a Title IVE Masters Student whereas her concentration area was on Public Child Welfare.

Ms. Gentry has been with Contra Costa County, Children and Family Services since July 7, 1998.  She has worked in many District and Countywide programs as a Social Worker, Social Work Supervisor, Division Manager and most recently as the Deputy Director to the Bureau Director with Children and Family Services.  Ms. Gentry has a passion for promoting healthy families and esteem in youth in the Community and has extended her work and passion by volunteering with local non-profit organization working with at risk youth in the community.
