Lift Every Child’ by Kya Cook
“I love to paint and draw. I have always been passionate about creating African theme art because of what it can represent. Through using many colors and different art forms, a story can be told. The painting depicts a family of three holding hands as they walk towards the sunset. Colors help covey a power expression within African Art and I feel as though African families deserve that same feeling as we thrive to help newborn African American children in the United States. I hope we all feel inspired to walk towards sun to achieve a better tomorrow while letting the shadows of the past fall behind us.”
